In 2008, Rockwell Construction completed the Manitowoc GMK/Final 2 Expansion Design/Build Project to nearly double the size of their existing GMK crane assembly building. The new facility expanded their existing 60,035 sf Final Assembly building by adding a 54,528 sf pre-engineered metal building on the north end.  The new addition included the erection of two 30 ton overhead cranes and 340’ of machine conveyor installed in the concrete slab.  Once the new addition was operable, the 2^nd phase of the project involved complete renovation to the existing facility  including installation of  an additional 340’ of conveyor in the existing concrete slab.  The project had an aggressive schedule and was under a roof with the conveyors and overhead cranes installed less than 3 months after footing excavation.
